John explique que les “quad clinics” sont un moment de partage autour des pratiques de cerfs-volants 4 lignes. Son objectif est de rendre son expérience de plus de 20 ans accessible et de la partager largement avec les cerfs-volistes. Le deuxième objectif est de s’amuser, en favorisant la confiance au sein du groupe et la familiarisation avec le vol en équipe. Une personne qui vient d’acheter un cerf-volant 4 lignes peut se joindre à la clinique et tout apprendre sur le terrain. Les cliniques visent à familiariser les cerfs-volistes avec leur équipement. La première partie de la clinique “quad 101” apporte des connaissances sur :
- les différents cerfs-volants 4 lignes
- comment ils fonctionnent
- leur composition
- comment les piloter
- comment positionner son corps et quel état d’esprit avoir
- comment nous voyons le ciel
- comment nous divisons la fenêtre de vent/vol
- les différents aspects : vol en équipe, vol en ligne courte, etc.
Ces temps de partage cherchent à mettre les participants en position de réussite, quelle que soit leur expérience. C’est le cœur de cette approche du cerf-volant : une expression individuelle, sans unique bonne façon de voler. La meilleure voie est celle avec laquelle chaque pilote se connecte le plus. Au fond, l’objectif est d’identifier ce que chaque pilote aime faire, de lui montrer comment suivre son instinct et de l’aider à développer ce qu’il veut devenir.
