Quad-line kite community

Sport kite flying is passed on through people: a conversation on a field, a tuning tip, a shared video, a figure shown at the right moment, a club lending a set of handles.

QuadKites.org gathers resources, but the community gives them meaning. It brings together beginners and experienced pilots, makers, teams, builders, clubs, archivists, photographers, and curious newcomers. Talking with them is often the fastest way to progress.

The best entry point depends on what you are looking for.

• To meet pilots: look for festivals, clubs, and regular flying fields.
• To ask a quick question: Facebook groups are often the most active.
• To find technical discussions: forums are still valuable.
• To help this site: send a correction, a resource, an archive, or field experience.

Most kite flyers are welcoming to curious newcomers. If you are starting out, simply say what you are looking for: learning the basics, understanding gear, watching a team fly, trying quad-line kites, building a kite, or finding a club.

Festivals remain the best way to see many practices in one place: single-line kites, dual-line kites, quad-line kites, giant kites, workshops, routines, teams, and sometimes competitions.

Not every event offers the same experience. Some are very family-oriented, others are more focused on demonstrations or experienced pilots. If you want to try a kite, meet quad-line flyers, or bring your own gear, contact the organizers before travelling.

Clubs are useful for regular progress, safer flying, and meeting pilots near you. In France, you can use the club map or contact the Fédération Française de Vol Libre.
